Intern – Value Engineering & Operations
Full-time paid internship (6 months) | Hybrid | Location: Munich
At zebrafant we are developing the world’s first sensor-less, fully integrated tour-planning system for bring-point waste collection. Supported and awarded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE), the State of Rhineland-Palatinate, and the German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU), we are redefining waste collection by eliminating inefficiencies, cutting costs, and enhancing sustainability in waste management processes.
Your role
You will work at the intersection of operations and product development: analyzing customer processes, ensuring smooth daily operations, and feeding structured insights back into the zebrafant system. By working closely with drivers, operations teams, and product, you help improve and automate operational workflows and shape our system to scale across customers. Your contributions will directly enhance how waste collection is planned and executed.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day operations with customers and drivers (workflows, escalations)
- Conduct quality & process analyses, identify optimization potential, and turn findings into product requirements
- Get a good understanding of our Webapp to be able to configure it for new clients and create reports and analyses
- Maintain driver contact & trainings; support onboarding at new customers
- Support product management (requirements, product improvements, testing)
- Run statistical analyses in SQL/Python; build reports & dashboards
- Commercial discovery & go-to-market experiments for new products
What we are looking for
- Enrolled Bachelor’s/Master’s student (preferably information systems, industrial engineering, or similar)
- Basic SQL and good python skills; confident working with data
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical terms
- Language: German (C1) and English (B2)
- Willingness to travel (usually 1x month; on-site customer visits across DACH)
- Hands-on mindset, strong communication skills, structured way of working
- Nice to have: Class B driving license (permitted in Germany), BI/notebooks knowledge
